What people say about the Big Gig

"As the sole Music Specialist in the schools I've taught in, I've been required to sit through years of Maths and Literacy PLCs with the other staff. I've smiled politely and joined in, after all, I originally trained as a generalist primary teacher, and I nod as I'm told , once again, that "There's maths in Music!", as if I haven't known this since I was a small child discovering it for myself. However, at the MFI PD I got to be with peers who play and sing, who teach what I teach, who I could jam with and learn from. As I told my principal, it was not just enriching and empowering, but actually life-giving! So thank you MFI, for breaking down more of my boxes and opening up my horizons again, and as a result, the musical futures of my students"
Megan - Hamilton (Gray St) Primary School, Melbourne.

"A great weekend of focused learning that was still very fun and applicable to a real world music classroom - highly recommended"
Sean - AOBA Tokyo

"The Big Gig was nothing short of absolutely spectacular fun! Two days spent exploring, tinkering, playing music and sharing ideas felt remarkably therapeutic, offering a respite from the demands of our daily teaching routines. The experience of simply playing music alongside fellow music educators provided an invaluable opportunity for rejuvenation and connection whilst reinforcing the significance of fostering a supportive community within the realm of music education. A big thank you to the Musical Futures International team for the incredible resources they left us with and a revitalising reminder of the intrinsic rewards of being a music educator"
Rozelle - Oberoi International School, India.

“The amount of hands on workshops was incredible!”
Matthew - Ministry of Education, Singapore.

“I loved having the opportunity to learn from others and meet colleagues. The practical activities and music making”
Jen - Prince of Wales Island International School, Penang.

"I found the weekend to be an ideal combination of music making, theoretical information, immersion with pop pedagogy and technology, and time to network with other teachers who also are interested in making music learning more relevant, interesting, and creative"
Matthew - Education University of Hong Kong.
